How do customers refill a perfume?
- Refill bottle: a larger bottle, for example 100 ml or 200 ml, sold with a screw cap or pump. The customer unscrews the pump on the main bottle and pours or decants.
- Refill with the same pump: the customer buys a plain screw-neck refill and moves the decorative pump and cap over.
- In-store refill: the retailer refills the customer's bottle from a bulk container.
Each format needs a screw neck on the bottle the customer keeps.
What should you check in a refillable set?
- The screw pump seals without leaking after you open and close it at least 10 times.
- The pump dip tube is cut to the bottle height.
- The cap fits over the screw collar and stays on.
- The bottle glass is thick enough to feel premium after being handled many times.
- Decoration resists perfume and handling, since the bottle is meant to last.

Does a refillable bottle cost more?
Not much. A screw-neck stock bottle and screw pump cost about the same as a crimp set: bottles roughly US$0.30–0.95 and pumps US$0.30–0.65 per piece in 2026. Brands often choose a heavier bottle and a better cap for a keep-forever bottle, and that is where the extra cost comes from.
